Memory Walk
A meaningful community gathering honouring loved ones, opening conversations and bringing dementia awareness into the public space.

01 — The origin
Dementia is more than memory loss. It can change how a person experiences the world and how families experience the journey alongside them.

02 — The Mind
The people we love. The places we've known. The moments that shaped who we became.

03 — Memories
A familiar face. A favourite place. A story told so many times that it becomes part of the family itself.

04 — When Memories Fade
Familiar names become harder to recall. Moments become fragmented. The world can begin to feel unfamiliar.
But dementia never takes away a person's worth.

05 — Reconnection
Sometimes it is a familiar voice. A gentle hand. Sitting together. Being present when words are no longer enough.

06 — Our Purpose
Through awareness, education, support and compassion, we can help create a world where no one faces dementia alone.

The foundation for dementia

We are a South African non-profit company dedicated to improving the lives of people living with dementia, their families, caregivers, and communities.
Our work is centred on dementia awareness, education, support, dignity, inclusion, research and advocacy helping communities better understand dementia and respond to the needs of those affected by it.
Through partnerships, education, advocacy, community initiatives and responsible research, we aim to contribute to a South Africa where people living with dementia and those who care for them are understood, supported, respected and empowered.

Every person affected by dementia deserves dignity, compassion and respect for their humanity.
Working toward communities where people living with dementia remain included, valued and respected.

We believe a diagnosis should never mean losing dignity, connection or belonging. Our work is about creating the understanding and support that make a different future possible.
To raise awareness about dementia, educate communities, support caregivers and advocate for compassionate care so that every person living with dementia feels respected, included and valued.
A future where dementia is understood without stigma, caregivers receive the support they need, and every community becomes a place of compassion, inclusion and hope.
Our belief
“Every act of understanding is an act of compassion.”
How we create change
Our work brings together education, support, community and advocacy to make dementia better understood and the people affected by it better supported.
Workshops, conversations and resources that help individuals and communities understand dementia and memory loss.
Practical guidance, connection and emotional support for the families and caregivers walking alongside someone with dementia.
Awareness initiatives and partnerships that help create communities where people living with dementia can remain seen, included and valued.
Using our voice to encourage greater understanding, inclusion and dignity for every person affected by dementia.
Because meaningful change begins when people feel seen, supported and understood.
Get involved→05 — The people around dementia
Dementia affects more than one person. It touches families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, communities and the systems that surround them.
The people closest to the journey.
Families often become the foundation of care, support and reassurance throughout the dementia journey.
Dementia may affect an individual, but the journey belongs to many.
